01 Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how New Town (the "Application" or "Service") handles information when You use Our mobile app. We designed the Application to work primarily on Your Device, with a focus on one empty island, brick, beam and glass, and the city You raise there.

By using the Service, You agree to the practices described in this Policy. If You do not agree, please discontinue use of the Application.

02 Application Context

First architect. New Town is a mobile experience for raising a city on a surveyed island: placing houses, roads and water on the City grid, keeping an Archive of buildings, pinning contracts on the Tasks board, solving pipe shops in the Workshop, and tuning the desk in Town Hall. City name, surveyor nickname and portrait, plots, materials, plans, commissions, generated postcards, and hall settings are intended to stay on Your Device unless You choose to contact Us by email, save a postcard to Photos, or share a copy Yourself. Where We rely on third-party SDKs (for example attribution analytics or push delivery), they process data as described below and under their own policies.

03 Definitions

Application means New Town, the software program provided by Us.

Company ("We", "Us" or "Our") refers to New Town.

Country refers to: United Kingdom.

Device means any device that can access the Service (for example a smartphone or tablet).

Personal Data (or "Personal Information") means any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual.

Service Provider means third parties that process data on Our behalf to facilitate the Service, analytics, attribution, notifications, or related technical functions.

Usage Data means data collected automatically when You use the Service (for example diagnostics, session length, or technical identifiers).

You means the individual using the Service, or the legal entity on whose behalf that individual uses the Service, as applicable.

04 Information Stored on Your Device

Your city name, surveyor nickname, surveyor portrait, founding date, brick, beam, glass and blueprint counts, placed buildings and networks, district names, archive shelves and notes, saved plans, generated postcards and captions, chronicle entries, commissions and custom goals, workshop puzzle records, architect crest, sky and quality settings, sound and haptics, onboarding completion, and similar app data are stored locally on Your Device.

We do not require an account to use the Application. Unless otherwise stated in this Policy, this local island is not transmitted to Our servers as part of normal use. The Metal scene is rendered on Your Device and does not leave the phone. We do not collect location data or microphone audio.

Generated postcards: The PHOTO shutter freezes a view of Your Metal island. These images are drawn by the Application. They are not photographs from Your camera or library.

Surveyor portrait (optional): In Town Hall You may set a nickname and a mark. You can pick a stamp from Application artwork, take a photo with the camera, or choose one picture from Photos. That image is cropped and stored locally on Your Device as Your surveyor portrait. We do not upload it. We do not browse Your library beyond the picture You pick.

Photos (optional, add only): If You choose "Send to Photos", the Application may ask permission to add a postcard to Your photo library. We do not upload postcards to Our servers.

Share and export (optional): You may share a postcard, a city archive code, or a workshop shop code using the system share sheet. Sharing is under Your control and governed by Apple's policies for those surfaces.

Purchases: New Town does not offer in-app purchases, subscriptions, or other paid unlocks. There is no StoreKit checkout in the Application.

Notifications (optional): If You allow push messaging, the Application may request notification permission. Push messages may be delivered through Our messaging partner as described below.

Usage Data. Usage Data is collected automatically when You use the Service. It may include, for example, Your Device's Internet Protocol (IP) address, device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, diagnostic data, and timestamps or engagement signals related to the Application.

Product configuration. The Application may make limited network requests needed to operate the Service (for example to retrieve configuration). Such requests may include technical identifiers such as Your application bundle identifier together with identifiers associated with Our attribution and measurement partners, solely as needed for those technical purposes.

05 Analytics, Attribution and Messaging Partners

We use third-party providers to understand how the Application is discovered and used, to measure campaign effectiveness, to improve stability, and to deliver notifications. Depending on Your settings and applicable law, these partners may process identifiers associated with Your Device or install.

06 Use and Sharing of Your Information

We may use Personal Data to provide and maintain the Service, monitor usage, respond to Your requests, send service-related communications (including via push where You allow it), analyze and improve the Service, and support attribution and measurement as described above.

We may share information with Service Providers who process it on Our instructions and for the purposes described in this Policy, as well as where required by law, to protect rights and safety, or with Your consent where applicable.

You can stop much of the Application's on-device data collection by uninstalling the Application using Your device or store standard uninstall process. Some data may already have been processed by partners according to their policies and retention practices.

07 Retention, Transfer and Deletion

We retain Personal Data only as long as needed for the purposes in this Policy, legal obligations, dispute resolution, and enforcement of agreements. Retention details for partner-processed data are governed in part by those partners' policies.

Your information may be processed in locations where We or Our partners operate, which may be outside Your jurisdiction. Where required by law, We take steps designed to ensure appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

You may clear the island from Town Hall ("Type RESET"), which reseeds an empty survey plot with the starter hall on the Device subject to iOS behaviour. The surveyor nickname returns to the default mark, and the local surveyor portrait file is removed. Onboarding may run again. Postcards You already saved to Photos stay in Your library. Local postcard image files on the Device may remain until the operating system reclaims storage. You may contact Us to request access, correction, or deletion of Personal Data You have provided, subject to legal retention requirements.

08 Security and Legal Disclosure

No electronic transmission or storage is completely secure; We strive to use commercially reasonable safeguards for Your Personal Data. Data stored on Your Device is also protected by Your device's operating system and any security features You enable (such as a passcode or biometric lock).

We may disclose Personal Data if required by law or in good faith where disclosure is necessary to comply with legal process, protect Our rights or safety, investigate fraud, or respond to lawful requests by public authorities.

09 Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed at anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under 16. If You believe a child has provided Us with Personal Data, please contact Us and We will take steps to remove it where appropriate.

10 Links to Other Websites

The Service or Our communications may contain links to third-party sites (for example partner privacy pages). We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or practices. Please review their privacy policies.

11 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated Policy in the Application or on this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance unless applicable law requires additional steps.
